Overview

The Teacher Learning and Innovation Allocation (TLIA) provides funding to school boards to strengthen professional learning for teachers. This allocation helps foster collaboration, responsive learning, and the sharing of effective practices within schools, across school boards, and the province wide.

Funding

TLIA funding varies by school board and are based on:

  • a base amount
  • the school board’s average daily student enrolment

School boards should use the funding in accordance with local needs and in alignment with provincial priorities for education and the mandatory Professional Activity Day topics.

The funding may be used to:

  • identify specific schools or school teams with innovative practices
  • create or augment professional learning designs
  • support teacher led learning projects that respond to professional learning needs and current educational issues
