During the review of the environmental assessment, stakeholders raised concerns on navigation and safety which have since been addressed either through mitigation or proposed conditions of approval.
The City of Windsor was also able to successfully negotiate an agreement with the Walpole Island First Nation (WIFN) regarding their involvement in the implementation and construction of the marina. This agreement includes WIFN's right of first refusal on any aboriginal archaeological findings uncovered during construction and the establishment of a Liaison Committee to be involved during detailed design of the marina.
