Migrant Worker Support Program

ESDC funds projects to help workers who are in Canada through the TFWP access information, services and support. The following organizations in Ontario receive funding under the Migrant Worker Support Program:

  • Polycultural Immigrant and Community Services operates support services in the Toronto Pearson International Airport, including language support in English, French, Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin, Ukrainian and Russian. Polycultural supports workers arriving in Ontario by providing orientation services, educational materials and referrals to community organizations to receive direct services.
  • The Neighbourhood Organization’s (TNO) objective is to create welcoming communities to improve the safety, wellbeing and integration of workers and allow them to feel a sense of belonging. TNO works with Polycultural to provide information packages to arriving IAWs.
  • Workforce WindsorEssex reaches workers through events, information sharing, educational materials and other support services. Workforce WindsorEssex develops community organizations’ knowledge and capacity to provide resources and services to migrant workers with a focus on Windsor, Essex, Chatham-Kent, Sarnia and Lambton.

Other organizations supporting IAWs

  • Migrant Worker Community Program is located in the Windsor-Essex region and offers services such as interpretation and translation support.
  • Bridges Niagara offers information and programs for IAWs in the Niagara region and can also assist with interpretation.
  • Quinte Immigration Services offers linguistic translation and interpretation services to many agencies, businesses and individuals in the Lindsay and Brockville area in over 125 languages.
