Order in Council 356/2026

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas:

1. Subsection 13.1(1) of the Excellent Care for All Act, 2010 provides that the Lieutenant Governor in Council shall appoint a person to be the patient ombudsman;
2. Pursuant to subsection 13.1(6) of the Act, the patient ombudsman shall be appointed for a term of five years and may be reappointed for one further term of five years; and
3. The Lieutenant Governor in Council wishes to reappoint the current patient ombudsman, Craig Thompson, to serve in the role for a second term;

Now therefore, pursuant to subsection 13.1(1) of the Excellent Care for All Act, 2010,

is reappointed as patient ombudsman for a fixed term of five years commencing on March 29, 2026.
