Summary of the policy framework
The First Nation, Métis and Inuit Education policy framework was released in 2007 and outlined our approach to supporting First Nation, Métis and Inuit learners in Ontario. The framework identified two primary challenges to be addressed by the year 2016:
- to improve achievement among First Nation, Métis and Inuit students
- to close the achievement gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous students
We committed to providing progress reports every three years based on the ten performance measures. We released three progress reports over the implementation of the framework.
Implementation plan
This is the implementation plan to advance the goals of the Ontario First Nation, Métis and Inuit education policy framework.
