OAFRI-funded research is helping grow Ontario’s agri-food sector through innovation, training and partnerships.

Our initiatives strengthen Ontario’s agri-food sector by promoting resiliency, sustainability and long-term growth, ensuring that our food remains healthy, safe, affordable and accessible for everyone.

OAFRI is a comprehensive suite of research programming designed to create partnerships, develop innovative solutions, share new insights and foster sector growth and resilience. This initiative was previously funded under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP), a 5-year (2018-2023), federal-provincial-territorial initiative. OAFRI is currently funded by the Governments of Canada and Ontario through the Sustainable CAP, a 5-year (2023-2028), federal-provincial-territorial initiative.
