Order in Council 1250/2025

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Brian O’Byrne was reappointed as full-time chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board by Order in Council 305/2024, dated February 22, 2024;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 110(24) of the Labour Relations Act, 1995 and despite Order in Council O.C. 1247/2025, effective April 1, 2025, Brian O’Byrne shall be remunerated at the “Final 5 years” rate applicable to the position of the Executive Chair set out in Table 1 of Schedule 2 to Order in Council O.C. 1247/2025, as may be amended from time to time, during the remainder of this appointment;

Further, that Brian O’Byrne be eligible for benefits, including vacation, comparable to the benefit entitlements of OPS executives in the Senior Management Group and be entitled to elect to participate in the Public Service Pension Plan in accordance with the provisions of the Plan;

And further, that Brian O’Byrne be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out his duties for the Ontario Labour Relations Board in accordance with the relevant directives, guidelines and policies of the Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet.

In the event of a conflict between this Order in Council and a prior Order in Council relating to remuneration in respect of the period commencing April 1, 2025, this Order in Council prevails.

And further, that Order in Council O.C. 317/2024, dated February 22, 2024, be revoked.
