Order in Council 1485/2025

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the MPP Pension and Compensation Act, 2025 amended the MPPs Pension Act, 1996 to establish a new pension plan for Members of Provincial Parliament;

And whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council may, by order, establish a supplemental pension plan for members of the Public Service Pension Plan who are members of the Assembly;

And whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council may, by order, specify who the administrator of a supplemental pension plan will be;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 54(4) of the MPPs Pension Act, 1996, the Ontario Public Service Pension Board shall be the administrator of the MPP supplemental pension plan.

And pursuant to, subsection 10(1) of the MPP Pension and Compensation Act, 2025 and section 10 of the Legislation Act, 2006, this Order is effective as of January 1, 2026.
