
Order in Council 1604/2024
On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:
Whereas eight positions of Special Advisor, Agent-General were established or continued by Order in Council 1603/2024;
Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of His Majesty the King in Right of Ontario to provide for the remuneration of advisors who serve His Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities,
Effective January 27, 2025, each individual appointed to the position of Special Advisor, Agent-General, shall be entitled to the following remuneration, expenses and allowances in respect of their appointment:
- Remuneration
- Base remuneration of such amount as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine;
- An annual payment of ten percent of the base remuneration in lieu of pension;
- Medical, dental and extended insured benefits, excluding pension, equivalent to those applicable to Senior Economic Officers working abroad on behalf of Ontario.
- Expenses and Allowances
- Reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the duties of the Special Advisor, Agent-General in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet’s Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and other applicable directives.
- Provision of applicable allowances and premiums, including relocation and accommodation, equivalent to those applicable to Senior Economic Officers working abroad on behalf of Ontario.
And further that Order in Council 957/2019 be revoked effective January 27, 2025.
