Order in Council 1650/2025
On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:
Whereas the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (Minister) recommends that the Government of Ontario enter into an environmental assessment co-operation agreement with the Government of Canda to reduce administrative duplication resulting from comparable legislative and regulatory processes;
And whereas the proposed agreement between the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada entitled the "Co-operation Agreement between Ontario and Canada on Environmental and Impact Assessment" is attached as Schedule A;
And whereas clause 31(1)(i) of the Environmental Assessment Act, provides that the Minister for the purposes of the administration and enforcement of the Act and the regulations, may, with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council, enter into an agreement with any government or person with respect to the environment or environmental assessments;
Now therefore
- Pursuant to clause 31(1)(i) of the Environmental Assessment Act, Act, the execution of the " Co-operation Agreement between Ontario and Canada on Environmental and Impact Assessment ", in substantially the same form as attached as Schedule A, by the Minister, is hereby approved.
