On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas by Order in Council O.C. 1229/2024 dated September 26, 2024, the Government of Ontario established the position of Special Advisor to review the governance of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, in order to receive advice and recommendations;

Whereas by Order in Council O.C. 1332/2025 dated October 17, 2025, the position of Special Advisor was extended for a period starting on the date the Order in Council was made and ending no later than March 31, 2026;

Whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers it advisable to further extend the establishment of the Special Advisor;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of His Majesty the King in Right of Ontario to provide for the appointment of advisors to serve His Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities, paragraph 1 of Order in Council O.C. 1229/2024 is amended by replacing paragraph 1 with the following paragraph:

Establishment and Appointment of Special Advisor

1. The position of Special Advisor, accountable to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, established by Order in Council O.C. 1229/2024 and extended by Order in Council O.C. 1332/2025 is hereby further extended for a period beginning April 1, 2026 and ending no later than March 31, 2027.
