Particulars of a Compliance Order

s. 49 (2) Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 (“Act”)

These particulars are posted following the issuance of a Compliance Order against a registered career college by the Superintendent of Career Colleges pursuant to s. 46(2) of the Act.

Contraventions

The Superintendent of Career Colleges has ordered A2Z Driving School to:

  1. Stop contravening subsection 15(3) of the Act and comply with the conditions on the Registrant’s registration as a career college:
    • The Superintendent of Career Colleges believes that the Registrant has breached a condition of its registration, contravening subsection 15(3) of the Act.
    • On December 19, 2023, the Superintendent of Career Colleges added conditions to the Registrant’s registration, requiring the Registrant to retain the services of a compliance monitor for a period of 6 months.
    • On June 18, 2024, the Superintendent of Career Colleges modified the conditions on the Registrant’s registration to postpone the December compliance monitor requirement until such time that the Registrant enrolls students. On June 18, 2024, the Superintendent of Career Colleges also added a further condition to the Registrant’s registration requiring the Registrant to notify the Career Colleges Branch when it enrolled a student.
    • The Registrant enrolled students into a vocational program and failed to notify the Career Colleges Branch of the enrollment, thereby breaching a condition of its registration and contravening subsection 15(3) of the Act.

Required actions

By April 3, 2026, the Superintendent of Career Colleges required A2Z Driving School to provide written confirmation signed by a person with authority to bind the corporation, together with all available supporting evidence, confirming that they:

  1. Have taken steps to address present contravention, and continuing compliance
  2. Have come into compliance with the conditions on the Registrant’s registration, in particular, the conditions added by the Superintendent Superintendent of Career Colleges pursuant to subsection 15(2) of the Act on June 18,2024.

Actions taken to come into compliance

On April 2, 2026, A2Z Driving School provided written confirmation that it had taken steps to come into compliance, confirming the requirement to hire a compliance monitor.
