Summary

There is no better place in the world to host the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank than Toronto, Ontario and Canada. Toronto is one of the world’s leading financial centres, anchoring a region with a large manufacturing sector, experience in tech, AI and defence, as well as some of the world’s leading academic research institutions. If selected as host, Toronto can provide unmatched global connectivity through multiple international airports, diplomatic links through close to 104 consular offices and a diverse, well-trained workforce that would help the bank succeed. Toronto’s bid also has the enthusiastic support of the region, including multiple levels of government that have committed to working together to find an appropriate headquarters for the bank as well as equity support. Toronto’s bid rests not just on the strengths that the city has to bring to the table: It’s the support and resources of an entire province and country – with a strong history of multilateralism and standing up for democracy – that would make the DSRB a success if it is headquartered in Toronto.
