Project overview

Compare the efficiency and efficacy of innovative technology approaches for managing stormwater to decrease the level of phosphorus in Lake Simcoe.

Three existing stormwater management facilities in three separate communities in the Lake Simcoe watershed will be retrofitted and upgraded with technologies that have not yet been tested or proven.

Expected outcomes

  • lower phosphorus amounts discharged from stormwater facilities
  • improved water quality
  • cost-effective way of retrofitting stormwater facilities
