Minister’s Order
WHEREAS by order dated November 28, 2025 (the “Appointment Order”), Jean Lépine was appointed by the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement (the “Minister”) as the administrator (“Administrator”) for the Real Estate Council of Ontario (“RECO”) pursuant to subsection 5.1 (1) of the Safety and Consumer Statutes Administration Act, 1996 (the “SCSAA”);
AND WHEREAS, on the appointment of the Administrator, the members of RECO’s board of directors (“Board”) ceased to hold office;
AND WHEREAS it was intended that the Administrator’s appointment be completed immediately before a re-established Board holds office;
AND WHEREAS the Administrator has completed his appointment mandate as outlined in the Terms of Reference in the Appointment Order;
AND WHEREAS subsection 5.1 (4) of the SCSAA provides that the appointment of the Administrator is valid until the Minister makes an order terminating it;
THEREFORE, pursuant to subsection 5.1 (4) of the SCSAA, I hereby make the following Order:
- The appointment of the Administrator for RECO is terminated effective as of 11:59:59 p.m. on September 8, 2026.
- This Order comes into effect on the day it is made.
