Canada Games
The next Canada Games is the Canada Summer Games. The Canada Summer Games will take place from August 8 to 24, 2025 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Games are a national multi-sport event for provincial-level athletes who are pursuing development toward national and international competition.
The 2027 Canada Winter Games will be held in Québec City, Quebec.

Team Ontario
Team Ontario is made up of athletes, coaches and managers who represent Ontario with pride at the Canada Games.
Our athletes have qualified through a formal selection process and will compete against the best athletes from across Canada.
Members of Team Ontario are a valued part of our sport community and are the next generation of national, international and Olympic/Paralympic champions.
Provincial Sport Organizations
Provincial Sport Organizations (PSOs) play an important role in the development of Team Ontario and are responsible for:
- identifying, selecting and training our athletes
- selecting coaching staff and a team manager
- ensuring athletes and coaching staff are following eligibility requirements
- providing competition uniforms
- working with Mission Staff
- ensuring all team members have registered
For athletes
Before arriving at the 2025 Games, you need to:
- read and sign the Team Ontario Code of Conduct/Team Member Agreement
- read the Human Rights Policy
- complete the True Sport 101 Online Training Program
Mission Staff will provide more details to all teams.
Travel information
Details will be shared with each sport via their Mission Staff.
Team Ontario Ambassadors
If you have been named one of the Team Ambassadors for the 2025 Canada Summer Games, you may be called upon to:
- be a part of the pep rallies
- reflect the culture of Team Ontario
Ambassadors may also be selected for other roles, including:
- flag and sign bearer
- accepting the Canada Games flag
- for media purposes
For coaches
Before arriving at the 2025 Games, you need to:
- read and sign the Team Ontario Code of Conduct/Team Member Agreement
- read the Human Rights Policy
- complete the Respect in Sport online education course (contact your Mission Staff)
Mission Staff will provide more details to all teams.
Coach certification requirements
The coach certification requirements for your sport are outlined in your Sport Technical Package.
For most sports, head coaches need to be Competition Development Certified and assistant coaches need to be Competition Development Trained.
