Part III: Pre-competition requirements
1. Weigh-ins
- Medical Examination
- Each day of competition the Athlete must be passed as fit to compete by the physician approved by Muaythai Ontario immediately before being weighed in.
- Weigh-in
- A contestant may only compete in the weight for which he has qualified at each official weigh-in. Delegates authorized by MTO shall supervise the weigh-in and an Athlete’s Coach or corner may be present at the weigh-in but may not in any way interfere. Contestants will be weighed wearing their competition attire or mandatory article of clothing covering male/female genitalia.
- Making Weight
- A competitor will be allowed to present himself/herself at the official scales only once at the weigh-in each day. The weight recorded on that presentation is final.
- Athlete Attire
- The Athlete must weigh in wearing Muaythai shorts and female Athletes should also wear a sports bra or tight-fitted crop top.
- Weigh-in Allowance
- Zero (0) allowance is permitted.
- Failure to Make Weight
- An Athlete who fails to make weight by more than 5% of the contest maximum will not be permitted a second attempt.
- Scale
- A digital or medical scale is required. In a Single Show where no extra scale are provided will apply the rule of max 3 times weigh-in. The 3rd is final.
