As of January 1, 2025, proclamations will no longer be used to bring legislation into force and commencement orders will be used instead.

Unlike proclamations, commencement orders will not be published in The Ontario Gazette, but instead will be published on e-Laws | ontario.ca.

Notice of Election

A General Election will be held to choose representatives for the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Qualified electors should take note of the following information:

Additions to the List of Electors

Qualified electors whose names are not on the List of Electors may be added to the list by making a statutory declaration and providing proof of identity and proof of residence before 8 PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at their electoral district’s returning office or during voting hours at an Advance Poll in their electoral district or during voting hours at their voting location on Election Day. Additionally, electors can confirm, update or add their information to the List of Electors using Voter Registration until 11:59 PM on Monday, February 17, 2025. After this date, electors will only be able to confirm whether they are on the List of Electors.

Official Nomination of Candidates Closes

Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 2 PM in the returning office.

Advance Polls

Will be held at locations chosen for ease of access from Thursday February 20, 2025, to Saturday February 22, 2025, from 10 AM until 8 PM (Eastern Time).

Election Day – Thursday February 27, 2025.

Voting hours are from 9 AM until 9 PM (Eastern Time).
