Ontarians enjoy the social, economic, and environmental benefits of a healthy, sustainable deer population. We manage Ontario’s deer population to ensure it remains healthy and in balance with other wildlife populations. Ontario’s deer management program is designed to be responsive to changes in deer population status. As part of an annual process, these deer quotas have been set in relation to local population status and management objectives. Overall, Ontario’s deer population remains healthy and continues to provide a mix of benefits for all Ontarians.
