Maternal and Child Centre

Six Nations Maternal and Child Centre (Tsi Non:we Ionnakeratstha Ona:grahsta’) provides prenatal and postnatal care to Indigenous women and families in the Six Nations and south-west area of Ontario.

Services are provided by Indigenous midwives and incorporate traditional midwifery practices.

Indigenous Healthy Babies Healthy Children Program

The Indigenous Healthy Babies Healthy Children program helps Indigenous children start a healthy life in ways that honour and respect Indigenous culture and beliefs.

The Indigenous Healthy Babies Healthy Children program is:

  • free
  • voluntary
  • designed for Indigenous parents and their children

It is open to:

  • pregnant moms
  • families with children up to the age of six

Services may include:

  • preparation for parenting
  • screening and assessments to see if there are any risks that could affect your child's healthy development
  • service coordination
  • home visits
  • referrals to services and resources

How to register

If you are pregnant, talk to your family doctor, midwife or nurse.

If you have a child up to six years old, contact a service provider near you.
