Environmental assessment

The City of Sault Ste. Marie has submitted its final environmental assessment for the Sault Ste. Marie landfill expansion project to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks for review.
This assessment evaluated options to determine the preferred way of addressing waste management needs within the existing service area (consisting of the city, Prince Township and Batchewana First Nation’s Rankin Reserve) and included opportunities for waste diversion and disposal.
