Seniors Active Living Centre programs
Seniors Active Living Centre programs offer a range of social, cultural, learning and recreational activities for older adults. By promoting wellness, social connections and education, these programs can help reduce social isolation and help older adults stay active, independent and engaged.
There are almost 300 programs available across the province. Each program provides different activities to meet the unique needs of local residents, such as:
- arts and culture programs
- book clubs
- fitness centre and classes
- health and wellness services
- lifelong learning classes
- multicultural social groups
- recreation and leisure activities
- special events
- travel

Community recreation centres
Community recreation centres offer a wide range of facilities like:
- skating rinks
- swimming pools
- gyms
They also offer programs for all interests and age groups. Check your local centre’s website for updates and to find out if they offer programs online.

Libraries
Our public and First Nations libraries provide many services to seniors and their families in an accessible and friendly environment. Many of these resources are also available online.
At the library and on your library website you can find:
- audiobooks
- books
- magazines
- movies
- music
At the library you can often find programs related to:
- internet access and training
- newcomer focus programs
- digital media
- job help and skills

Volunteering and community engagement
Volunteering is a good way to stay socially active, meet new people and participate in your community.
If you're interested in volunteering with a seniors’ organization, get involved with provincial seniors’ organizations that often have chapters or clubs in communities across the province, such as:
