De Beers has identified a diamond resource within a remote area of the James Bay Lowlands of Ontario, approximately 90 kilometres west of the First Nation community of Attawapiskat. Exploration activities and investigations have indicated that the development of a diamond mine (Victor Diamond Project) is technically and economically feasible. The Project site is remote from existing power infrastructure. The purpose of the Victor Power Project is to produce/deliver power to support the later stage of construction and during operation of the proposed Victor Diamond mine.
The undertaking being considered is the construction and development of a permanent power supply for the later stage of construction and operation of a proposed diamond mine (Victor Diamond Project).
