Northern Physician Retention Initiative 2025-2026 Application Form

The application form for the 2025-2026 Northern Physician Retention Initiative (NPRI) is now available on Ontario.ca. Physicians practicing in eligible northern communities are encouraged to apply early to ensure timely processing.

Submitting Applications

Only applications that are received by email or by fax at 705-564-7493 will be accepted.

Applications that include electronic signatures (example: scanned original, electronic device applications, or digital) will be accepted in lieu of original, signed documents.

Application Deadline

The deadline to submit applications for the Northern Physician Retention Initiative is March 31, 2026. Applications received or postdated after March 31, 2026 will not be accepted or reviewed.

Payment

Payments will continue to be processed through the OHIP claims payment system and directly deposited in the bank account associated with your OHIP solo billing number. NPRI payments will appear in the “Accounting Adjustments” section of your OHIP Remittance Advice. It is your responsibility to ensure your banking information is correct.
