Completed November 26, 2013: R. R. O. 1990 Regulation 434 (Tender Fruit - Plan) made under the Farm Products Marketing Act to change the district and producer committee structures of the Ontario Tender Fruit Producers' Marketing Board
The proposed amendments to R. R. O. 1990 Regulation 434 (Tender Fruit - Plan) would: divide one of the electoral districts (District 1) of the Ontario Tender Fruit Producers' Marketing Board into two separate districts; and amend the formula for determining the number of members on each District Tender Fruit Producer's Committee. The proposed changes have been requested by the board and have the support of producers.
Completed July 1, 2013: Addition of Onions to R. R. O. 1990, Regulation 441 (Vegetables for Processing - Plan) and under R. R. O. 1990, Regulation 440 (Vegetables for Processing - Marketing)
The Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers has asked the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission (commission) to add onions sold for the manufacture of onion rings in Ontario to regulatory authorities under R. R. O. 1990 Regulation 441 (Vegetables for Processing - Plan) and to R. R. O. 1990 Regulation 440 (Vegetables for Processing - Marketing). The regulatory authorities would pertain primarily to the negotiation of prices, terms and conditions for the sale of onions from growers to processors.
Completed July 1, 2013: Regulation 392, 393 and 405 under the Farm Products Marketing Act to implement a proposal to merge the Ontario's Bean Producer's Marketing Board and the Ontario Coloured Bean Growers' Association into a single marketing board
In October 2012, white and coloured bean producers voted in favour of the creation of a single marketing board for both white and coloured beans. The proposed changes to Regulation 392, 393 and 405 under the Farm Products Marketing Act are intended to implement this direction in accordance with the regulatory proposal in the voters' package.
Completed June 21, 2013: Revocation of O. Reg. 404/01 (Licence Fees)
It is proposed that O. Reg. 404/01 (Licence Fees) be revoked under the authority of the Farm Products Marketing Act. O. Reg. 404/01 regulates licencing fees of the former Ontario Apple Marketing Commission, which is now defunct.
Completed June 1, 2013: O. Reg. 316/08 (Designation - Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc.) under the Farm Products Marketing Act
Proposed amendments to O. Reg. 316/08 (Designation - Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc.) would increase the licence fees payable by greenhouse flower growers. The fee would be adjusted from $0.020 to $0.025 per square foot of greenhouse floriculture plants grown to a new maximum of $16,250 instead of the current maximum of $13,000 per year.
Completed January 23, 2013: Regulation 440 (Vegetables for Processing - Marketing) to revise the negotiation dates for cucumbers
Industry has asked for two of the dates relating to the cucumber negotiations to be revised in order to fit better into their business cycle. The proposal is for the first round deadline to be moved from December 5 to December 15, and for the local board offer deadline to be moved from December 15 to December 20. Regulation 440 is a commission regulation which the commission has the authority to amend.
