Completed November 13, 2015: R. R. O. 1990, Regulation 400 - By-Laws for Local Boards under the Farm Products Marketing Act
Regulation 400 (By-Laws for Local Boards) outlines a number of general requirements for all marketing boards established under the Farm Products Marketing Act. The Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission (commission) is proposing to amend section 6 (b), which outlines the quorum for board meetings for the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG), to reduce the number of voting members from seven to six.
Completed July 1, 2015: Addition of Oats and Barley, including mixed oats and barley to O. Reg. 485/09 Grain (Grain Corn, Soybeans and Wheat) - Marketing and O. Reg. 484/09 Grain (Grain Corn, Soybeans and Wheat) - Plan
The Grain Farmers of Ontario (GFO) has asked the commission to add oats and barley to their regulatory authorities under O. Reg. 485/09 Grain (Grain Corn, Soybeans and Wheat) - Marketing and O. Reg. 484/09 Grain (Grain Corn, Soybeans and Wheat) - Plan.
Completed June 4, 2015: R. R. O. 1990, Regulation 410 (Fresh Grapes - Marketing) to establish an industry advisory committee
R. R. O. 1990, Regulation 410 (Fresh Grape - Marketing) outlines the authorities of the Ontario Fresh Grape Growers' Marketing Board (OFGGMB). The proposed amendment would allow the OFGGMB to establish an industry advisory committee.
Completed April 1, 2015: Regulations establishing a marketing board for veal under the Farm Products Marketing Act and consequential amendments to Regulation 54 under the Beef Cattle Marketing Act
Veal producers have expressed strong support for the establishment of a marketing board for veal. The establishment of a board requires regulations under the Farm Products Marketing Act to create the board and outline its powers. Consequential amendments would be such that provincial licence fees and national levies would no longer be collected on the sale of veal calves.
