Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board trustee expenses review
Find information on the review of the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board’s trustee expenses and accountability policies.
Overview
The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB) was put under review in response to an incident in July 2024, when 4 trustees from BHNCDSB travelled to South Tyrol, Italy, at the board’s expense to purchase religious art for 2 new schools.
Concerns were then raised about how the school board:
- changed their existing expense policies
- spent money on things not related to students
Based on these concerns, the Ontario government appointed Aaron Shull to review this situation and the board’s policies and procedures related to:
- trustee expenses
- travel
- financial accountability
- board executive salaries
