We are exempting the construction of a war memorial from the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act to keep the government's commitment to honour the sacrifices made by members of the Canadian Armed Forces during the Aghanistan conflict.
The Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries must build the memorial in accordance with any conditions in the declaration order.
