This page contains the Auction Notice, Summary Results Report and Public Proceeds Report for every Ontario cap and trade auction of greenhouse gas allowances.
Effective July 3, 2018, we cancelled the cap and trade regulation and prohibited all trading of emission allowances.

Overview
Ontario auctions of greenhouse gas allowances occur four times a year. The first auction was held in March 2017.
There are three public documents associated with each auction.
Auction Notice
This is posted at least 60 days before an auction. It contains information on an auction’s process, including:
- date and time
- schedule
- number of emissions allowances to be auctioned
Summary Results Report
This report gives key data and information on the results of an auction, including:
- total number of allowances sold
- settlement price
Public Proceeds Report
This report gives a final summary of an auction’s proceeds.
