Pay Ontario taxes and charges
Learn about your options for paying Ontario taxes and charges online, by mail or in person.
Important
Beginning December 1, 2026, financial institutions will no longer accept paper remittance vouchers for in-person bill payments.
If you currently use paper remittance vouchers to pay your taxes, you will need to switch to another payment method before December 1, 2026.
Overview
The fastest and easiest way to pay Ontario taxes and charges is online. You can also pay using other available payment methods.
Before you make a payment, have your:
- payment amount
- account number
- payment period or filing year
Processing times and transaction limits may vary by payment method.
Pre-authorized debit (PAD) in ONT-TAXS online
You can schedule one or more future payment(s) from your bank account by setting up a pre-authorized debit (PAD) agreement in ONT-TAXS online.
You choose the payment amount and authorize the Ministry of Finance to withdraw it from your Canadian bank account on the date(s) you select.
A pre-authorized debit agreement must be set up in ONT-TAXS online before you can make a pre-authorized debit payment.
Fees
The ministry does not charge a fee for this service.

Visa Debit and Debit Mastercard in ONT-TAXS online
You can use Visa Debit or Debit Mastercard to make payments in ONT-TAXS online.
Visa Debit and Debit Mastercard allow you to make online payments directly from your bank account. You cannot use credit cards to make payments. All payments are processed through a secure third-party website.
Fees and transaction limits
The Ministry of Finance does not charge a fee for using this service. Ask your bank about any fees or transaction limits that may apply to online payments.

Online banking
Many Canadian banks and credit unions allow you to make payments to the Ministry of Finance through online banking from a business account.
To make a payment, add the Ministry of Finance as a payee through your financial institution and enter the required account or reference number.
You may be able to make a one-time payment or schedule future payments, depending on the services offered by your financial institution.

The Ministry of Finance does not charge a fee for this service. Ask your bank about any fees or transaction limits that may apply to online payments.

Wire transfer
You can make a payment by wire transfer through your financial institution.
Before sending a wire transfer payment, contact the ministry’s Deposit Manager at deposit.manager@ontario.ca. You need specific banking and account information to ensure your payment is applied correctly. The ministry is not responsible for updating your vendor form.
If your payment is for Gross Revenue Charge B or Hydro Payment in Lieu, contact AM-SAU.Enquiry@ontario.ca instead of the ministry’s Deposit Manager for wire transfer instructions.
Payments must be made in Canadian funds.
Fees
Your financial institution may charge a fee for a wire transfer.
After you send your payment
To help ensure timely processing, send a payment notification to deposit.manager@ontario.ca
Include:
- your account number or identification number
- type of payment (account, return, instalment)
- payment period
- amount paid
- date the payment was sent

You can send cheques, money orders and bank drafts, to the Ministry of Finance through the mail.
Do not send cash through the mail.

Before mailing your payment
- Make your cheque, money order or bank draft payable to the Minister of Finance.
- Include your business or account number on the back of your cheque or money order and the payment period or filing year.
Exceptions
- Estate Administration Tax: Use P.O. Box 625, L1H 8H9 instead of P.O. Box 620, L1H 8E9.
- Gross Revenue Charge B: Make your payment payable to Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation (OEFC) instead of the Minister of Finance.
- Hydro Payments in Lieu: Make your payment payable to Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation (OEFC) instead of the Minister of Finance.
Considered as paid: when delivered to the Ministry of Finance, which depends on mail delivery time.

Filing and payment due dates
There are dates specified by legislation or regulations where taxes and charges are required to be filed and paid.
When a due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, Ontario holiday, or federally recognized banking holiday, your payment or filed return is considered on time if the Ministry of Finance receives it on or before the next business day.
