Policy directives for operators of private career colleges
Performance and training standards for the operation of private career colleges and delivery of vocational programs in Ontario.
Overview
The Superintendent of Private Career Colleges issues policy directives under the legal authority established in s.53 of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Policy directives are legally binding documents and set out specific performance requirements and exemptions that the superintendent has established for private career colleges. Below are the policy directives that are currently in force:
Standards for programs
Policy directives establish program standards that must be met for these vocational training programs:
- Class A commercial truck driver training
- developmental services worker
- esthetician
- hairstylist
- online or hybrid training delivery
- personal support worker
- security guard or private investigator
- teaching english as a second language
Policy directives under review:
The ministry is making a comprehensive review of the superintendent's policy directives for vocational programs in:
- dental hygiene
- ultrasound technology and medical sonography
