Terms of reference

The purpose of the environmental assessment is to address the diminishing capacity at the Town of Saugeen Shores’ Southampton Landfill Site through the assessment and determination of a long-term solid waste management plan for the town.

The town has submitted its proposed terms of reference for the Saugeen Shores waste management plan environmental assessment for approval by the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.

The terms of reference is a work plan that outlines how the environmental assessment will be completed, including studies and consultation. The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks must approve the terms of reference before the environmental assessment can begin.

Members of the public, agencies, Indigenous communities and other interested persons are encouraged to provide comment on the proposed terms or reference. The minister will consider comments before making a decision.
