Project summary
Waste Management of Canada Corporation (Waste Management) is looking to expand the Twin Creeks Environmental Centre landfill to provide up to an additional 14.3 million cubic metres of waste capacity on the existing site, which would extend the life of the site by approximately 12 years. This proposed expansion would be achieved through a vertical expansion and would not change the approved service area or annual fill rate of the existing site.
Waste Management has owned and operated the landfill, located in the Township of Warwick, since 1996. The landfill is authorized to receive up to 1.4 million tonnes per year of municipal, industrial, commercial, and institutional non-hazardous solid waste, including non-hazardous contaminated soil from across Ontario.
