Overview

Under section 47 of the Planning Act, the minister can make zoning orders that regulate the use of land in Ontario.

The Minister decides whether to approve or refuse requests for an MZO. Requests can come from ministries, municipalities, organizations, businesses or individuals.

Previous Minister’s Zoning Orders

MZOs issued before November 27, 2025 are posted as regulations under the Planning Act.
