In 2025–2026, the Court Services Division (CSD) made significant progress on many of our long-term projects, plans and initiatives.

Our focus continues to be on modernization and improving access to justice services for court users across Ontario — but it is also about better supporting and recognizing our employees for the impressive work they do every day.

To that end, a handful of our shining achievements are included in this year’s annual report, highlighting and recognizing the contributions and reflections of our people.

Court Services Division’s financial reporting continues to be available, and published each year, through Public Accounts of Ontario.

In the fall of 2025, CSD established a new Operational Plan, outlining 3 shared goals for the division and more than 14 priority projects.

The division’s shared goals are:

  • Transformation — modernizing the way we work.
  • Service delivery — meeting the needs of the public and our justice partners.
  • People, culture and leadership — fostering an engaged workforce and reducing workload.

Transformation

Modernization is a long-term effort — and changes are continuing to happen gradually over many years in Ontario’s courts to better support the public and our staff.

Key successes this year include:

  • the rollout of the Courts Digital Transformation (CDT) initiative in Toronto
  • the rollout of the Digital Information and Repository in our northern regions
  • our electronic certification of court recordings initiative.

Service delivery

Meeting the needs of the public and our justice partners is the core of our business. We continually strive to work more efficiently to meet and exceed service delivery expectations. Key initiatives this year have included various regionalization initiatives to reduce backlogs and improve service, and the Court of Appeal Modernization Project (CAMP).

People, culture and leadership

Our people are the foundation of our achievements. Ensuring that our employees are supported continues to be an essential focus for us.

Key initiatives this year to support our people and organizational culture include:

  • the One Computer Strategy
  • our Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) mental health needs assessment project
