Proesthetics supplies
Limb prostheses supplies are intended for individuals who
- were born with a partial/absent arm/leg, or lost part or all of a limb due to disease or injury (not work-related)
- accessed prostheses through the Assistive Devices Program (ADP)
Exclusions
ODSP only covers items which are not covered by any other source, including government programs (e.g., Ontario Health atHome, Assistive Devices Program, Ministry of Health) or private programs such as private health insurance. For example, items provided by the following programs will not be covered by ODSP:
The Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Assistive Devices Program (ADP) covers the cost of prosthetic limbs if the client were born with a partial or totally absent arm, or lost part or all of a limb due to disease or injury (not work-related). It covers two types of prosthetic limbs:
- basic upper and lower-limb prosthetic(s)
- myoelectric upper-limb prosthetic(s) which includes myoelectric prosthetics controlled by person’s own muscles
ODSP clients are eligible for 100% coverage at ADP-approved price for the custom-made parts of a basic upper and lower-limb prosthetic(s) and have a maximum amount for components (hand, wrist, elbow)
