Alarms for Patients at Risk for Falls
Alarms for patients at risk for falls is intended for individuals who have:
- been characterized as a falls risk by an appropriate health care professional
Exclusions
ODSP only covers items which are not covered by any other source, including government programs (e.g., Ontario Health atHome, Assistive Devices Program, Ministry of Health) or private programs such as private health insurance.
ODSP will not cover items and services for:
- use of alarms for Fall-Risk Patients in hospitals or long-term care
- monitoring devices with fee-based subscription services

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator (TENS) Device & Supplies
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator device and supplies are intended for individuals who have
- a requirement to be treated with a TENS Device as a direct result of a surgical, radiological, or medical procedure or disease; or
- a diagnosis for chronic, intractable pain other than chronic low back pain

International Normalized Ratio (INR) Home Monitoring System
International normalized ratio home monitoring systems are intended for individuals who are:
- currently on long-term or lifeline anti-coagulation therapy (warfarin)

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Lamp
Seasonal affective disorder lamps are intended for individuals who have:
- been diagnosed with
- Seasonal Mood Disorder as defined by the DSM-V; or
- bipolar disorder or recurrent major depression
- been recommended Light Therapy with a Seasonal Affective Disorder Lamp by an approved health care professional

Blood Pressure Monitor
Blood pressure monitoring items are intended for individuals who have:
- Been diagnosed:
- with hypertension; or
- another medical condition requiring regular monitoring of blood pressure
