Overview

In March 2020, the Ministry of Health (ministry) established PHSUP as a temporary, pandemic response measure to help reduce the spread of the virus and protect the health of all persons present in Ontario at a time when it was difficult to leave the province due to border closures and travel restrictions.

PHSUP funding was terminated on March 31, 2023.

Per INFOBulletin 230305, hospitals had 12 months from the date of service to submit PHSUP billing spreadsheets to the ministry for payment for service dates up to and including March 31, 2023.

Billing deadline

March 31, 2024 is the last day for hospitals to submit or resubmit PHSUP billing spreadsheets to the ministry.

PHSUP submissions and resubmissions received after March 31, 2024 will not be accepted.
