Promoting dual credit program pathways with activities and forums
Overview
Activities and forums are hands-on events that help students, parents and teachers learn about postsecondary and apprenticeship pathways in dual credit programs.
School boards and postsecondary partners work together to offer these events.
Activities and forums:
- may be full or half-day
- may take place on postsecondary campuses, in schools or virtually
- are free for participants
Activities
Activities are events that support exploration and understanding of postsecondary and apprenticeship pathways.
Activities may include:
- on-campus, hands-on experiences — opportunities for students in grades 7 to 12, including adult students
- teacher kits and classroom resources — for use in elementary or secondary classes to increase understanding of postsecondary pathways
- virtual opportunities — online options to engage students in postsecondary and apprenticeship pathways
Forums
Forums are events that support educators and instructors involved in dual credit programs.
Forums:
- bring together secondary school teachers and postsecondary instructors involved in dual credit programs, either virtually or in person
- support discussion of roles, responsibilities, policies, procedures and logistics, and share best practices
