Overview 

Dual credit programs are for students who:

  • are close to earning their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • would benefit from earning postsecondary credits or apprenticeship training while still in secondary school

Eligible students are selected under the principal’s oversight, based on the following criteria:

Primary target group

The dual credit program prioritizes students who:

  • are disengaged from school
  • are at risk of not graduating
  • have the potential to:
    • succeed in a dual credit course or Level 1 apprenticeship program
    • earn their OSSD

These students have priority access to available dual credit seats.

How students are selected

Students may:

  • express interest to their principal or guidance counsellor during course selection
  • be identified by school staff who believe they would benefit from participating

The principal oversees all selection decisions.
