About the National Occupational Classification (NOC)

The National Occupational Classification assigns codes to and groups jobs by:

  • main duties or tasks
  • example titles for jobs within an occupational group
  • specific education or training requirements
  • experience needed

Frequency of job profile updates

Data is refreshed each year in late winter/early spring. Design and usability improvements are made on an ongoing, ad hoc basis.
