Overview
Further to INFOBulletin 260303, the Ministry of Health (the ministry) is making enhancements to registration processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and security.
Effective June 12, 2026, a confirmation response will be sent via the Medical Claims Electronic Data Transfer (MCEDT) when any Change of Address or Banking Information requests have been received and processed by the ministry.
The response will be sent to the MCEDT account listed on the request under the file type of General Communication and will not contain any identifying or private information.
Please see sample response messages:
- Sample Change of Banking Confirmation: “Please accept this as confirmation that your Change of Banking Information request has been processed. If you did not request this change, please contact the ministry at
1-800-262-6524 immediately.” - Sample Change of Address Confirmation: “Please accept this as confirmation that your Change of Address request has been processed. If you did not request this change, please contact the ministry at
1-800-262-6524 immediately.”
The ministry expects that all health care providers registered in MCEDT review downloaded files regularly to ensure that you do not miss important communications from the ministry. If you have automated software and have questions or concerns about receiving this file type, please discuss this with your vendor.
Please also note that all physicians are required under Regulation 57/97 of the Health Insurance Act to provide in writing to the ministry an address for every place they regularly provide insured services in Ontario to insured persons. If a physician plans to change the place where they regularly provide insured services, they must give the ministry the address of the new place 30 days before the change occurs.
